Aeroflot is the first to implement Sber's AI terminals for ticket payment

The screen adjusts to the passenger, and faces are recognized even in poor lighting

It is now possible to pay for an airline ticket with a smile at Aeroflot's main sales office: the company is the first in Russia to install Sber's Neo AI terminals in all 22 service windows. The devices accept cards, biometrics, and QR codes.

The screen automatically adjusts its tilt angle to the passenger's position. The biometric system recognizes faces in various lighting conditions thanks to adaptive backlighting and AI algorithms. A depth camera builds a three-dimensional map of the face. An octa-core processor and a separate neural coprocessor, which handles AI tasks directly on the device, are responsible for its operation. The screen resolution is 60% higher than the previous generation. Payments can be made by card, smile, contactless via SberPay, or by QR code.

Neo was first showcased at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2026. Following the presentation, Sber and Aeroflot agreed on cooperation. For the airline, this is part of the digitalization of customer service. Previously, biometrics for payment in aviation were tested selectively; now, they are in full operation at the main sales office. If the experiment proves successful, the terminals may appear in airports, and payment by smile will become commonplace.
