Doctor of Military Sciences Konstantin Sivkov assessed the effectiveness of Russian air defense as three times higher than American air defense. The Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences presented his position in a comment for "Komsomolskaya Pravda".
According to Sivkov, one of the advantages of Russian air defense is its ability to repel massive drone attacks. The specialist attributes the effectiveness of the defense to experience in countering a large number of aerial targets.
I will give figures for just one day. On the night of October 14, 902 drones were destroyed over Russia, one broke through to a data center in Saratov Oblast. The effectiveness of air defense is 99.9%. There are no other air defense systems with such a history in the world. When the Americans repelled Iranian attacks of 500 drones a day this spring, half of the UAVs reached their targets.
The Russian air defense system includes complexes of different classes. The S-400 "Triumf" is designed to engage aerodynamic and some ballistic targets, while the S-350 "Vityaz", "Tor-M2" and "Pantsir-S1" complement the layered defense, providing protection at other lines. The result depends not only on the characteristics of individual complexes, but also on the organization of detection, tracking and interception of targets.
