Specialists of the Russian Armed Forces' unmanned systems troops have modernized interceptor drones in the workshop. The devices are now capable of reaching speeds of up to 300 km/h. The key difference from previous schemes is that the interceptor hits the target with a warhead, not by ramming, like, for example, the already proven "Yolka". But its speed is also lower there - up to 230-250 km/h.
That is, the drone does not expend itself on a collision, but destroys the enemy device with a directed explosion, similar to an anti-aircraft missile.
Engineers consider the improved ground-based robotic complex to be a special source of pride. It was equipped with a "Kord" machine gun, two interceptor drones on board, as well as a telescopic mast with a day and night vision camera and 30x zoom.
The Ministry of Defense explained that such modernization significantly expands the capabilities of units for reconnaissance and countering air threats.
