Most of the smart home functions with Alice are available again after failures caused by damage to Yandex's data centers. Users can once again control lighting, adjust temperature, and use the capabilities of the AI camera. However, some functions of the 'Dom s Alisoy' (Home with Alice) application are still unavailable.
Full restoration of the service has not yet been achieved. The status of 'Stations' in the application may be updated with a delay. Cloud scenarios — automatic commands for devices, such as turning on the light under certain conditions — sometimes start later than expected or do not work at all.
It is also not yet possible to view the event history, sensor readings graphs, and their trigger history.
On the night of October 7-8, after a UAV attack, the data center in Sasovo was shut down — then the failure affected the ru-central1-b availability zone and some cloud services. On October 9, a similar incident occurred in Kaluga, and on the night of October 11, the Yandex data center in the Vladimir region completely ceased operations. According to the company, the facility temporarily went out of service due to infrastructure damage.
The service failure affected the loading of media websites, electronic document management systems, and partner services. Yandex Cloud transferred some resources to emergency mode and recommended clients to use alternative recovery plans.
