The exact number of aircraft in the first batch has not yet been disclosed. Indonesian Air Force Commander Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono, when asked about the deliveries, replied: "Just wait."

Recall that in October 2025, Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin announced plans to acquire 42 Chinese combat aircraft for $9 billion.

Meanwhile, the saga with the sale of Su-35s to Indonesia has been going on for 5 years. In 2021, media reported that the republic allegedly refused to purchase 11 Su-35 units due to lack of funds, although the supply contract was signed back in 2018.
