In Russia, the average cost of goods and services for preparing a passenger car for winter in September 2026 amounted to 41,164 rubles, which is 6% higher than in 2025. Such data was provided by the analytical center "Check Index" (owned by "Platform OFD").
The set of goods for one passenger car included 4 tires, a set of windshield wiper blades, windshield washer fluid, tire fitting and car wash services.
However, if we do not take into account tire expenses, the average bill will be 7,368 rubles, which is 10% higher than last year's level.
Analysts also recorded an increase in the average bill for tire fitting and car wash, up to 3,510 rubles (+10%) and up to 1,885 rubles (+11%). At the same time, the volume of services decreased by 6% and 4% respectively.
Before the start of the tire change season, car tires became more expensive again — by an average of 5%, up to 8,449 rubles. Windshield washer fluids became 7% more expensive (up to 451 rubles), a set of windshield wiper blades — by 12% (up to 1522 rubles).
Experts from "Check Index" noted that Russian motorists have started to save more on winter preparation. The number of tire purchases decreased by 4%, washer fluid — by 3%. Most of all, they save on windshield wiper blades. Purchases of "wipers" decreased by 9%.
Analysts explain this trend by a decrease in car traffic due to the fuel situation in Russian regions. In addition, due to comfortable weather, drivers are not in a hurry to "change shoes" for their car and postpone a trip to the auto shop and tire fitting station.
