Russian inventor proposed shooting down drones with a flamethrower from a tank

The scheme provides for circular surveillance using drones and manual flamethrower weapons

Moscow inventor Evgeny Zadorozhny patented a method of protecting armored vehicles from drones using several drones and a manual flamethrower. According to the new idea, several UAVs with video cameras were proposed to be mounted on an armored vehicle to provide 360-degree all-round visibility.

Another drone should accompany the equipment from the air and monitor approaching enemy aircraft.

Operators transmit detected targets to the armored vehicle commander via communication channels. To defeat drones, the inventor suggests using a manual flamethrower mounted on the vehicle, or providing a shooter with such a weapon.

Zadorozhny explains the idea by the crew's limited visibility and the difficulty of simultaneously controlling an armored vehicle, conducting combat, and monitoring the air situation. Drones should take over threat detection and target designation.
