Bank vs. Hackers: Alfa-Bank Launches AI for Vulnerability Detection on Websites

The new service checks companies' digital infrastructure and helps detect potential threats

Alfa-Bank has launched Alfa-Scanner, a service that uses artificial intelligence to search for vulnerabilities in companies' digital infrastructure. The technology was initially developed for the bank's own protection, but is now being offered to corporate clients, entering the cybersecurity services market.

The new tool checks websites, applications, network services, and other resources available on the internet. The AI detects potential vulnerabilities, assesses their severity, and suggests ways to eliminate them. The analysis results are additionally verified by bank specialists.

The service operates in the cloud and does not require the installation of separate equipment. All identified threats and recommendations are available in a personal account. The cost starts from 500 thousand rubles, and the minimum contract period is six months. Companies can also take advantage of free pilot testing.

Similar technologies are also available from other major banks. For example, T-Bank has developed an AI system that simulates hacker actions and checks the possibility of exploiting found vulnerabilities. However, it is currently only used internally by the bank. Sber provides free access to a database of known vulnerabilities.

Experts believe that banking solutions may attract businesses with lower costs, but they may not be able to fully replace specialized cybersecurity tools in all cases. In particular, checking external resources does not cover all possible threats within the corporate infrastructure.
