Heavy Truck Market Falls in Russia

KAMAZ Sold Over 10 Thousand Vehicles Since Early 2026

In the first three quarters of 2026, 27.5 thousand heavy commercial vehicles (HCV) with a gross vehicle weight of over 16 tons were sold on the Russian market, which is 16% less than in the same period of 2025. This was stated by Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat agency.

KAMAZ is in first place. The plant sold 10,578 heavy trucks, which is 7% more than in the first 9 months of 2025. KAMAZ's market share reached 38.4%.

Next are three Chinese brands: Sitrak (2,422 units, -52%), FAW (2,284 units, -20%), Dongfeng (2,072 units, +64%). The fifth place belongs to MAZ (2,047 units, -13%). Chinese Shacman and Howo, as well as Russian Ural, managed to sell more than 1,000 units.

Tselikov clarified that in 2026, 62% of sales account for trucks assembled in previous years. Deals for new equipment accounted for only 38%. In 2025, the share of new HCV purchases did not exceed 32%.

Earlier, PAO KAMAZ presented its financial results for the first quarter of 2026. The share of K5 family trucks in total shipments reached 13%.
