Two-thirds of Russians are willing to some extent to entrust artificial intelligence (AI) with helping their child with their studies. This is stated in a survey by Mail and Uchi.ru (owned by VK), which involved 2.5 thousand people.
20% of respondents would trust AI to explain complex topics, 18% to check homework, and 16% to help prepare a report. Another 12% of respondents would entrust AI with compiling summaries and brief retellings of literary works. In addition, 14% of respondents are not against delegating the creation of study plans and exam preparation to neural networks. At the same time, one in five parents does not want to entrust AI with tasks related to their children's education.
Analysts noted that half of the respondents consider technology an additional tool in education, but the main source of knowledge remains the teacher. For another quarter of respondents, the teacher is a mentor and assistant.
Many parents consider additional online education an opportunity for development. About 45% of respondents allow their child to study online for 1-2 hours, and a quarter are confident that studying in this format for more than 2 hours will not harm the minor's health.
The survey showed that digital services are actively being introduced into education in Russia. Currently, 8 out of 10 schoolchildren use various platforms for studying. 45% of children receive help with homework, and 28% of children watch video lessons on school subjects.
