Russian servicemen spoke about the use of the Retrik repeater, which allows transmitting a signal between a ground station and a remote FPV drone. This was told to RG by a serviceman of the 352nd Motorized Rifle Regiment with the call sign Valera.
According to him, Retrik can be used from a ground position or lifted into the air on a separate quadcopter. The aerial platform receives a signal from the operator and retransmits it to another UAV.
The serviceman stated that after lifting the quadcopter with the repeater, the second UAV can fly up to 60 km. According to the military, this scheme allows working in a "free hunt" mode.
The main technical difference of this scheme is the separation of functions between two devices: one provides signal retransmission, the second is used directly by the operator.
