FPV drones went into a "Swarm", and interceptors went hunting for drones

Russian military tested two new schemes for using small UAVs at once - a massive attack on ground targets and aerial interception

Unmanned aerial vehicle units of the Central Military District practiced the simultaneous application of two FPV drone tactics: group impact on ground targets and interception of aerial drones. The episode took place at the Yurginsky training ground in the Kemerovo region, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.

When applying the "Swarm" tactic, several FPV drones synchronously impacted the positions and equipment of a simulated enemy in a limited area. According to the military department, this scheme creates a high density of destruction and makes maneuvering and finding cover difficult.

In parallel, crews used FPV interceptors to combat aerial drones. Detection and identification of targets were provided by radar stations, after which control centers distributed tasks among interception groups, taking into account target priority and the situation.

The military also practiced several options for neutralizing the target drone. In addition to ramming, aerodynamic impact, capable of disabling the device, and creating conditions for it to lose control were tested.

The novelty of this episode lies in the combination of two scenarios: some drones work on ground targets in a group, while others simultaneously perform tasks against aerial threats.
