Rostselmash is conducting a new stage of traction tests for its 1000-series tractors. Engineers are checking tractive effort, travel speed, wheel slip, and fuel consumption under various loads. The data obtained will be used to determine operating modes and evaluate the possibilities of aggregation with various agricultural implements.
RSM 1270, RSM 1290, and RSM 1310 are participating in the tests. Specialists used one tractor, programmatically changing engine power and simulating the characteristics of three models. A front hitch was additionally installed on the RSM 1290.
According to the technical data of the series, the RSM 1270 develops up to 291 hp, the RSM 1290 — up to 305 hp, and the RSM 1310 — up to 320 hp. The models are equipped with 8.9-liter engines and a 16×9 automatic transmission. These characteristics have been known long before the current tests, so in this case, the novelty is not the power of the tractors, but the verification of their behavior under load.

The 1000-series also has a more serious reserve of characteristics: the older RSM 1370 model is designed for a maximum power of up to 408 hp, and the hydraulic system in the High Flow version can provide up to 284 l/min.
The series is designed to work with various types of implements, including mounted and trailed tools; the documentation also provides for a front hitch and several hydraulic equipment options.
The current stage is not yet complete. After this, specialists will compare the obtained data to evaluate the efficiency of various operating modes.
