KAMAZ presented a new tank truck for transporting oil and oil-containing liquids. The ACN-17T “Termos” is mounted on an all-wheel drive KAMAZ-65959 K5 generation chassis. The vehicle was developed by KAMAZ's official partner, OOO “UralSpetsTrans”, which produces special equipment under the SEVEREST brand.
The main feature of the vehicle is hidden in the tank itself. It is made of stainless steel, designed for transporting and short-term storage of oil and oil-containing liquids with a density of up to 0.92 g/cm³. The tank capacity is 17 m³.
The tank was additionally insulated. The initial data indicates thermal insulation with a thickness of 10 cm. Such a design should reduce heat loss during the transportation of products sensitive to temperature changes.
The tank itself is secured on two rigid and one swinging support. This scheme reduces the load on the vehicle frame when driving on uneven roads.
At the core of the ACN-17T is the KAMAZ-65959 K5 with a 6x6 wheel formula. Under the hood is an inline KAMAZ R6 diesel engine with 483 hp, and a maximum torque of 2403 N·m. A 16-speed manual transmission works with the engine. The vehicle received three drive axles and single-tire wheels, and the cabin is mounted on a four-point suspension.
The manufacturer positions the ACN-17T as equipment for oil and gas enterprises that have to work in difficult climatic and road conditions.
At the same time, the idea of a “Termos” is not new for “UralSpetsTrans”. The manufacturer's website already features ACN-17T models on other chassis, including models on KAMAZ-65224 and Ural-63701.
