The Bryansk Automobile Plant has patented a tractor unit with a fully armored cabin. Information about this is contained in the patent published by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property.
The tractor is built on an eight-wheel chassis. The cabin is a fully armored frame-panel type with a slewing device and a hatch. It is equipped with a turret with the possibility of installing a machine gun.
Behind the cabin, there is a welded frame-type engine compartment made of steel rectangular pipes. The engine compartment is covered with a hood from above, and the left and right decks are covered with protective panels with doors and hatches.
Protective heat-shielding panels are installed on the outer vertical surfaces of the cabin steps, the casing of the hydraulic steering system's oil tank, batteries, air filters, and engine compartment walls. Each muffler-spark arrester is equipped with a set of thermal screens on its outer surface to reduce visibility.
Such equipment can be used for transporting oversized cargo, including in conditions where crew protection and reduced visibility are required. The patent does not specify particular areas of application – it could be military logistics or civilian transportation in challenging conditions. The possibility of installing a machine gun and heat-shielding panels indicates that the vehicle is primarily designed for operation in high-risk areas.
