Children should not provide personal data when creating accounts in online games, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs told TASS. A strong password and two-factor authentication will help protect the profile. Also, a child should not know the passwords to their parents' phones.
The department noted: if strange offers to send message codes, photos, or perform unusual actions are received in the game chat, this should be reported to parents. Adults will assess the situation and decide what to do. According to a representative of the department for combating illegal use of information and communication technologies, the main thing is not to leave the child alone with such messages.
Strong passwords and two-factor authentication reduce the risk of hacking, but the main protection is trust between the child and parents. If a schoolchild hides correspondence, even a reliable account will not save them from manipulation.
