The Russian company ZALA, which produces the Lancet strike complex, has become one of the world's leading developers of unmanned systems. This was stated to TASS by a leading expert in the field of UAVs at the Africa Aerospace and Defence 2026 exhibition in South Africa.
The Lancet family of loitering munitions has changed military perceptions of the role of such drones, the expert said. The system is compact, which increases stealth of use, and the strike vehicles operate in a single circuit with reconnaissance drones, reducing the cycle of target detection and engagement. The company is developing the product line, offering container launchers and multi-channel systems for group use.
At the exhibition in Pretoria, ZALA showcased the Z-16E reconnaissance UAV and the "Product 52E" loitering munition from the Lancet-E complex. The vehicles are presented in the joint exposition of Rosoboronexport.
The Z-16E is capable of day and night reconnaissance, is resistant to radio interference, and has a low signature.
