The Indian Air Force has chosen a supplier of spare parts for MiG-29UPG fighters worth $12.6 million. It is the Kyiv-based company "Spetstechnoexport," IDRW agency reported.

The Republic is purchasing components for the continued operation and maintenance of its MiG-29UPG fleet. The contract execution period is set for one year.
India has about 50 MiG-29UPG fighters in service. All aircraft were built at the RSK "MiG" facilities in Russia.
The UPG modification received new onboard equipment, radar, electronic warfare systems, and an updated cockpit.
It should be noted that the purchase of spare parts for Russian combat vehicles not from the main manufacturer generally aligns with India's desire to diversify military cooperation as much as possible.
For example, India recently bet on the American engine GE F404-IN20 for the Tejas Mk1A fighter instead of the Russian RD-33 family. However, delays in deliveries from General Electric led to program delays.
