Operators of PVKh-2 copter-type drones from the "Center" group of forces of the Russian Armed Forces are effectively hitting enemy targets. Soviet anti-tank mines TM-62 are used as the warhead. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
The defense department clarified that aerial reconnaissance revealed several fortified enemy strongholds. After receiving target designation, the PVKh-2 UAV crew prepared for a combat sortie.
The soldiers installed a TM-62 mine with a modernized fuse on the apparatus. This modification of the explosive device allows for maximum damage when hitting a fortification.
The enemy used electronic warfare (EW) equipment, but this did not prevent the PVKh-2 operators from successfully reaching the target and accurately dropping the mines. As a result of the pinpoint strike, the fortified area was destroyed.
The Russian Ministry of Defence emphasized that such tactics allow for guaranteed destruction without the involvement of heavy artillery. At the same time, the risks for military personnel during the execution of tasks are minimal, the press service concluded.
The department did not disclose the characteristics of the PVKh-2 drone. Information about the PVKh-1.5 drone is available on the website of the Center for EAARIIBS. The flight altitude of the FPV drone is 1500 m, the range is up to 10 km, and the speed is 130 km/h. The apparatus can carry loads up to 3.2 kg. The weight of the product itself is 2 kg.
