Chinese products have begun to noticeably take over the Russian market from polymer product manufacturers. The largest Russian flexible packaging manufacturer, Danaflex, has already lost some film supplies, said company representative Azat Galiev.
According to him, Danaflex is the only manufacturer of polymer film that retains water and allows air to pass through.
And for us, this is a major client. Now China is replacing us. All Huggies diapers in Russia were produced using Danaflex film, now it's only 60%. It will be difficult to maintain our share, we understand that.
The publication "Business Online" clarified that the Chinese supplier received about 40% of the volume that previously belonged to the Russian company. The price gap also reaches 20-30% in favor of Chinese products.
Galiev added that the reason lies in the customs imbalance – processors buy raw materials domestically at a higher price. At the same time, finished products from China enter the Russian market with minimal restrictions.
