The complex with a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun is designed for round-the-clock combat against reconnaissance and attack UAVs at low and extremely low altitudes.

According to the concern, depending on the type of target, the effectiveness of the complex is estimated by military personnel at 70–100%. Among the targets hit are aircraft-type and multirotor reconnaissance drones, repeaters, kamikaze drones, including jet-powered devices, as well as FPV drones.

A thermal imager is optionally installed. The operator works from a remote control. "Kalitka-KA" is available in a stationary version and a mobile version based on a production pickup truck.
