A Million Is Not Enough: The Central Bank Wants to Increase the SBP Transfer Limit for Businesses

Companies will be able to send larger sums to each other without splitting payments into multiple operations

The Bank of Russia plans to increase the maximum amount of transfers between companies via the Faster Payments System (SBP). Currently, no more than 1 million rubles can be sent per B2B operation through SBP.

The new limit amount has not yet been announced. Previously, the Central Bank supported the idea of raising it to 30 million rubles, as the current restriction forces companies to break down large settlements into several separate payments.

The change was included in the draft main directions for the development of the financial market for 2027–2029. At the same time, the regulator intends to expand the use of SBP for cross-border transfers.

Plans also include further promotion of "Mir" cards abroad and the development of alternative payment methods that will allow Russians to pay for goods and services in other countries.
