The head of the Ministry of Industry of Belarus, Andrey Kuznetsov, launched the trial operation of a road train consisting of the innovative MAZ-545001 (MAZ-X) tractor and an isothermal semi-trailer "Kupava". The event took place at the site of the Minsk State College of Automotive Engineering. This was reported by the press service of the department.
With its movement along the roads of the capital, residents will be able to clearly see – Belarusian industry and the Republic of Belarus are keeping pace with the times, demonstrating a high level of engineering thought and the ability to implement relevant solutions.
The energy-efficient hybrid MAZ-X will transport goods of the Minsk Automobile Plant and the BELAVTOMAZ holding company throughout the republic.
Main characteristics of MAZ-X:
- Turbodiesel with 350 hp
- Electric motor – 2 × 200 kW
- Traction battery capacity – 42 kWh
- Range – 3000 km
- Maximum payload – 10.5 t
- Independent suspension on all axles
The advantages of the semi-trailer tractor are economical operation of the power unit, optimal aerodynamic design, and additional comfort for the driver (the cabin is 1.5 m³ larger than standard models). The MAZ-X package includes blind spot monitoring systems, emergency braking (EBS), and electronic stability program (ESP).
