The gasoline situation in St. Petersburg has sharply deteriorated. According to the "GdeBenz" service, by September 11, fuel without queues could be found at less than 40% of gas stations, whereas in August, this figure was close to 90%. Almost every second gas station was completely out of gasoline.
Disruptions intensified after the shutdown of the Kinef oil refinery in Kirishi – one of Russia's largest and a key fuel supplier for St. Petersburg. The plant ceased processing after being damaged by drone attacks in late August.
Taxi drivers report kilometer-long queues and two-hour waits. According to them, gasoline is available in the city, but not at all stations.
It's very difficult: much worse compared to summer. You probably need to spend about five hours at the gas station. I think the queues are unreal. There's simply no gasoline, none at all. If there is, it's a 2-3 kilometer traffic jam. I have a video, but it contains profanity; in the center, you probably won't be able to refuel at all. It appears somewhere on the outskirts, but a queue immediately forms there. On Wednesday, I couldn't refuel, and on Thursday, I couldn't either. Yesterday, I accidentally refueled: I drove up to the gas station from the other side of the queue. There was a free pump that I watched for three minutes. No one drove up to it. On the other side, there was a three-kilometer traffic jam, and no one was talking about it.
The authorities of Leningrad Oblast confirmed a decrease in shipments at several gas stations and possible disruptions. Vice-Governor Egor Mishcheryakov linked the situation to logistical failures amid attacks on processing facilities and stated that fuel supplies are now being regulated manually.
