Sales of Russian agricultural machinery in the first half of the year increased by 11.2%, to 85.5 billion rubles — for the first time since 2023. Export deliveries increased by 4%, to 10.3 billion rubles, according to "Rosspetsmash", while sales in units significantly decreased.
All growth came from the grain harvester segment — the most expensive machinery: sales grew almost 1.9 times, to 1.56 thousand units. Production is falling for almost all main types: balers — by 48.6%, to 514 units, tractors — by 14.3%, to 1.6 thousand, forage harvesters — by 24%, to 79 units. Headers (+66.8%, to 1.6 thousand) and sprayers (+11.7%, to 666 units) are growing.
Gennady Nepomnyashchy, Commercial Director of EkoNiva holding, linked the growth in monetary terms to the sale of expensive items: farmers are postponing planned fleet replacement, only buying equipment to replace broken ones. Alexander Altynov, Chairman of the Board of the ASHOD association of agricultural machinery dealers, explains the result by last year's low base and deferred demand before harvesting; the reduction in the key rate also helped. Rosspetsmash states that most enterprises are in a critical financial and economic condition — the association asked to limit metal prices to 60% of the world average, expand tax benefits, and support exports. According to Altynov's estimates, agricultural machinery sales in 2026 could fall by 15%.
