Previously purchased abroad: serial production of radiation control detectors to be launched in Moscow

Rosatom's nuclear instrumentation scientific and technological cluster established at SNIIP

Rosatom has opened a scientific and technological cluster (STC) for nuclear instrumentation based at the Specialized Scientific Research Institute of Instrumentation (AO "SNIIP") in Moscow. Here, radiation control detectors and individual dosimetry devices will be developed and mass-produced.

Nuclear scientists will be able to synthesize new materials, manufacture detectors and electronic components, apply special coatings, and perform finishing. Since all main technological processes will be established at one site, the production of finished products will significantly accelerate. The projected capacity of the STC is up to 1,500 detectors and 10,000 unified electronic components per year.

The nuclear instrumentation cluster was established with the support of the Industrial Development Fund (IDF). AO "SNIIP" received a preferential loan of 200 million rubles for its implementation under the "Component Parts" program.

Thanks to this, the enterprise has created its own production of radiation control elements, which were previously purchased abroad.

Rosatom and the IDF also signed an agreement on modernizing the equipment of AO "SNIIP". Funds will be allocated for updating 7 types of equipment, including those for controlling radioactivity of media, technological spectrometry, and measuring gamma radiation dose rates.
