On Leo Tolstoy's birthday, an AI character of the writer appeared in "Alisa AI". You can talk to him about life and work, ask for advice, or ask a common everyday question. In response, the system will select a suitable quote from Tolstoy's works or diaries.
The conversation can be continued by voice. For this, Yandex specialists restored the writer's voice from archival recordings: they cleaned the preserved fragments from noise and adapted the speech synthesis model to his intonations. On Yandex Stations, it is enough to say: "Alisa, call Leo Tolstoy."
An interactive game based on the writer's works also appeared in the chat. The user can decide how familiar stories will develop – for example, change the circumstances of the acquaintance of Natasha Rostova and Andrei Bolkonsky or help Zhilin from "Prisoner of the Caucasus" escape. The neural network generates the continuation of each plot taking into account the chosen actions.
The project is available from September 9 to 14 in the "Alisa AI" applications, "Yandex - with Alisa AI" and "Yandex Browser". At the same time, a 3D model of the Khamovniki estate appeared in Yandex Maps, and Tolstoy's archive continues to be digitized: neural networks have already helped systematize more than 20 thousand photographs.
