Future engineers have begun combining studies with work in the production of engines for long-range aviation and space rockets – the Samara-based ODK-Kuznetsov has signed targeted training agreements with first-year students.
The enterprise, which produces NK-32 engines for the modernized Tu-160M, involves students in production work from the very beginning of their studies.
First-year students participate in two educational programs simultaneously. The "Wings of Rostec" track is implemented at the Institute of Engines and Power Plants of Samara University named after Academician S.P. Korolev. The second project, "Engineering Start," is being developed by ODK-Kuznetsov in cooperation with Samara State Technical University.
Under the "Wings of Rostec" program, students receive training in areas related to the design of aircraft and rocket engines. "Engineering Start" is aimed at future process engineers and metallurgy specialists who will work with engine-building production technologies.
The new scheme implies that a student becomes an employee of the enterprise from the first year. During their studies, they get acquainted with production processes, acquire practical skills, and gradually receive tasks related to the actual work of the enterprise. Experienced specialists are assigned as mentors to the students.
