Vessel the size of three football fields: Putin inspects 300-meter tanker "Pyotr Stolypin"

The President was also shown the large freezer trawler "Kapitan Yunak" of project ST-192

Vladimir Putin visited the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex in Bolshoy Kamen, where he inspected the LNG tanker "Pyotr Stolypin". The head of state went up to the vessel's bridge, where the captain gave him a tour, noting that the tanker's dimensions – 300 meters – allow for three football fields to be placed on its deck.

"Pyotr Stolypin" is an Arc7 ice-class LNG carrier capable of year-round operation on the Northern Sea Route. The vessel was built as part of a series of five tankers for the "Arctic LNG-2" project and became the first LNG carrier fully built in Russia.

In addition, the President inspected the large freezer fishing trawler (BMTR) "Kapitan Yunak" of project ST-192, also under construction at Zvezda. The trawler is capable of catching and processing up to 60 thousand tons of fish annually on board, which is 2.5 times the productivity of vessels forming the basis of the Far Eastern fleet. The onboard factory allows for the production of pollock fillet, surimi, fish oil, and fishmeal, and the waste-free cycle eliminates the discharge of waste into the ocean. The vessel's length is 108 m, width is 21 m, autonomy is 45 days, and the crew is up to 155 people. The trawler can operate in waves up to 4 m and in ice conditions, allowing fishing in the Okhotsk and Bering Seas.
