Software developed in India to improve the combat readiness of MiG-29K fighters has been officially ordered by the Indian Navy, according to IDRW. The software product was created by Smart Machines and Structures. It is based on the use of data from the technical condition monitoring and operating modes system, specially adapted for the needs of MiG-29K maintenance.
The software allows faster processing of data from aircraft sensors, more effective assessment of the airframe and engine condition, reduction of unscheduled downtime, and acceleration of maintenance for the fleet of machines serving on two aircraft carriers.
Previously, the Indian Navy integrated the Israeli Rampage missile into its MiG-29K carrier-based fighters, and also updated the onboard systems and cockpit of these aircraft. The new software from Smart Machines and Structures continues the modernization effort aimed at enhancing the combat readiness of the MiG-29K fleet, which remains a key element of India's carrier-based aviation.
