Russian marketplaces Wildberries, Ozon, and Yandex Market have started integrating digital ruble payments. The new form of the national currency became operational on September 1.
When placing an order on the desktop version, an additional window for digital ruble appeared on Wildberries and Yandex Market. In the mobile applications of all three platforms, the option is only available to Android users. The digital ruble is the third form of money alongside cash and non-cash, a technology developed by the Central Bank.
VTB Head Andrey Kostin stated at the Eastern Economic Forum that the digital ruble will gradually develop and become common practice. According to him, it is a more convenient, transparent, and faster means of payment. The integration of major marketplaces is a step towards the mass adoption of the new currency.
