Tatarstan develops a turbojet interceptor with a speed of 1000 km/h to replace anti-aircraft missiles

The "Aerocon" device received machine vision for autonomous target acquisition

The "Aerocon" company from Tatarstan has developed an unusual interceptor drone designed to combat unmanned aerial vehicles at speeds up to 1000 km/h. The device received an integral layout, unusual for a conventional UAV, more resembling a small missile, reported the "Voennaya Khronika" publication.

The installation of a compact turbojet engine is envisioned, which should provide high flight speed.

Analysts noted that such a scheme combines the capabilities of a high-speed drone and an air target interception tool.

In fact, "Aerocon" is creating a new class of short and medium-range air defense systems.

The characteristics of the analog platform may include a practical ceiling of over 9 km and a range of up to 100-150 km.

The main feature of the project is autonomous guidance. For target detection and tracking, the developers envision a thermal imaging sensor and machine vision technologies.
