"Novtrak" presented the innovative SK-451 dump semi-trailer

The lightweight design with the first extended axle allows transporting up to 30 tons with a gross weight of 44 tons

The Meusburger plant of “Novtrak” company (part of the “Rosspetsmash” Association) presented the first-of-its-kind lightweight four-axle dump semi-trailer with the first extended axle. The SK-451 model is designed for transporting coal, crushed stone, and screenings, and allows passing weight control with a gross vehicle weight of up to 44 tons, carrying at least 29–30 tons of cargo depending on the tractor.

The semi-trailer's curb weight is 7,700 kg. Such a light weight is achieved through the extensive use of aluminum and high-strength steels. The 31 cubic meter body is made of HARDOX steel and has a semi-circular shape for quick and complete unloading. The lightweight frame of the new design is specifically developed for coupling with a 4×2 wheel formula tractor.

The 1+3 axle configuration allows for optimal weight distribution of the coupling. The axle units on air suspension are designed for high loads and intensive operation. Lifting the first and second axles helps save fuel, reduce tire wear, and component wear. According to the company, the new frame design reduces stress in the coupling area, which increases the durability of the semi-trailer. Air suspension also contributes to road surface preservation and improves the stability of the road train. The SK-451 can be used in the construction and mining industries, providing high productivity in bulk cargo transportation.
