Since the beginning of summer, the number of connections to the "5G mode" option at MegaFon has grown by 10%. The service is designed to accelerate mobile internet and ensure more stable network operation under high load – especially during travel, streaming, and active use of online services.
The main drivers were Samsung and Xiaomi owners: their smartphones account for more than half of all connections. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra took first place, followed by Galaxy A12 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 12. The top ten also included Galaxy S24 Ultra, S22 Ultra, and models from the Galaxy A and Redmi Note series.
Most users of the mode are in Moscow and the Moscow region. However, interest is growing fastest in the regions: in Mordovia, the number of connections increased by 73%, in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug by 59%, and in the Samara region by 52%.
The Novgorod region, with a growth of 47%, and Karelia, with 43%, also entered the list of leaders. The company attributes the demand to users' growing requirements for mobile internet speed and stability.
