In the combat zone, Russian units are using the Omich-2 ground robotic complex as a transport vehicle – footage of soldiers on board the platform has appeared online. Initially, the tracked drone performed tasks such as delivering ammunition, medicines, and provisions, as well as evacuating the wounded from the battlefield.
The Omich-2 has a payload capacity of up to 450 kilograms and can tow trailers weighing up to half a ton. The robot can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h and can operate on a single battery charge for about 40 minutes. According to military correspondents, one such robot helped evacuate about ten soldiers and deliver about 300 kilograms of cargo. Among the military, the vehicle has been nicknamed "Dima".
The development of the Omich-2 is supported by the Omsk Automobile and Armored Engineering Institute and the People's Front. The design is compact – at least two such platforms can fit into a Mi-17 transport helicopter. The active use of robotic platforms helps to speed up cargo delivery and save soldiers' lives.
