The new frame SUV Sollers S9 will go on sale in November–December 2026, according to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”. The publication released detailed photos of the pre-production version of the car.
The car received a five-seater interior. As the publication notes, the S9 offers ample space for rear passengers and a spacious trunk. The overall length, width, and height of the SUV are 5200, 1965, and 1810 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 3090 mm.
The Sollers S9 was developed in collaboration with the Chinese company JAC. On the Russian side, engineers from Sollers, UAZ, and Bauman Moscow State Technical University participated in the creation of the model.
The SUV will be offered with two 2.0-liter turbo engines. The gasoline version develops 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque, while the diesel version produces 143 hp and 410 Nm. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Earlier, in July 2026, Sollers obtained Vehicle Type Approval for the S9, confirming the model's readiness for mass production. The SUV is planned to be produced on a new line at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. Market launch is scheduled for the last months of 2026.
History of Sollers S9 Development
We have closely followed the history of this project. Back in April 2025, the editorial team reported on the first announcement of a frame SUV based on the JAC T9: it was then revealed that the platform shared a common architecture with the Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser, and production was expected to start at UAZ facilities by the end of 2025. Total investments in the project exceeded 4 billion rubles.
In December 2025, the release dates were clarified — sales were expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, and a diesel engine was among the options. At that time, two interior configurations were also mentioned — five and seven seats. By June 2026, it became known that a pilot batch had been assembled and sent for certification, and full-cycle industrial production was scheduled for September.
