The Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant "Kupol" (part of the Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation) has received a patent for a universal payload mounting device for unmanned aerial vehicles. The development simplifies the installation of various equipment and cargo on drones.
The device is made in the form of a cylindrical frame. Its basis is a support ring with rods fixed on it, to the rear of which a support bottom is attached. An intermediate flange is installed on the rods, connected to the power element of the UAV's own structure.
The universal frame from "Kupol" opens up wide possibilities for quick re-equipping of drones for various military tasks. In combat conditions, this allows for quickly adapting one UAV for different payloads – from reconnaissance equipment to strike weapons. The technology simplifies the change of target equipment directly on the front line, which is especially important in dynamic combat situations.
The "Kupol" enterprise is already developing competencies in the field of unmanned technologies – the plant has developed a universal target-training complex "Adyutant", imitating cruise missiles and drones . In addition, the enterprise is known as a manufacturer of "Garpiya" strike drones with a flight range of up to 1500 km, which are already used in combat conditions . The integration of a universal mount with existing and prospective developments, including heavy "Garpiya" drones, can significantly increase their combat flexibility and effectiveness.
