"Kalashnikov" develops "smart sight" with AI: it will be able to recognize drones

The system will be taught to distinguish, identify, and track low-flying drones

Kalashnikov Concern continues to develop a "smart sight" with artificial intelligence elements, machine vision, and new algorithms. The updated system should learn to recognize, identify, and track small low-flying drones, including FPV drones. This was announced by the head of the concern, Alan Lushnikov.

Developers are currently working on improving the sight's speed, reducing its weight, and perfecting its software. A separate area is machine vision algorithms, which should ensure automatic processing of target information.

According to Lushnikov, one of the system's tasks will be to detect and track small low-flying drones. This refers to ongoing development: specific completion dates and characteristics of the production version have not yet been disclosed.

After development is complete and if there is interest from a state customer, Kalashnikov allows for the supply of small arms equipped with the new sight.

Earlier, "Pervyy Tekhnicheskiy" reported that the AK-12 assault rifle provides 20% higher accuracy and firing precision compared to the AK-74, as stated by the head of Kalashnikov Concern.
