Never supplied to the army before: Lebedev pistol massively enters Russian troops for the first time

Alan Lushnikov: The weapon was refined to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Defense

Lebedev pistols are massively entering units of the Russian Armed Forces in 2026. This was announced by the head of the Kalashnikov concern, Alan Lushnikov, noting that the weapon is being refined taking into account the requirements of the Ministry of Defense.

Lushnikov said that the Ministry of Defense is already acquiring Lebedev pistols. The concern is refining them for military needs before they are adopted. Now it is not about single deliveries, but about mass equipping the army with this weapon.

They have found their role and place in our armed forces. Not only in the award fund, but are already massively entering the troops this year.

Lushnikov also noted that the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, part of the concern, remains the only serial manufacturer of pistols in Russia. The enterprise produces Makarov and Yarygin pistols, as well as the Lebedev pistol line.

It includes the compact PLC, used in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system, and the modular Lebedev pistol (MPL) with a 16-round magazine, adopted by the Rosgvardiya.
