Beeline taught AI to deflect advertising calls instead of the subscriber

You can listen to the conversation with marketers later in the app

The Beeline operator has launched a service that allows mass advertising calls to be transferred to a voice assistant. It can be activated in the mobile application with one button. The solution is designed for calls from companies to which the user previously provided their number or allowed marketing communications.

After activating the service, advertising calls are received by the voice assistant. The subscriber is not distracted by the conversation, and can later open the application and view information about the call, including listening to its recording.

The new approach is designed for those who want to reduce the number of unwanted conversations but are not ready to completely abandon potentially useful offers, Beeline explained.

When transferring a number to the operator's network, the service is provided free of charge. For existing subscribers and customers with a new number, the cost is 100 rubles. Service management is available through the operator's mobile application.

Mobile operators and AI protection against unwanted calls

Beeline actively uses artificial intelligence to combat phone threats. Previously, the operator launched "Cyber-Grandma" and "Cyber-Grandson" — AI voice interlocutors who keep fraudsters talking, preventing them from reaching real subscribers. Since the beginning of 2026, "Cyber-Grandma" has collectively spent about 70 hours talking to scammers, receiving about 500 fraudulent calls monthly.

The new service for intercepting advertising calls solves a related but separate problem: legal marketing calls are not formally fraud, but they also take up subscriber time. The regulatory agenda also sets the context for such initiatives — the editorial board reported on the mandatory labeling of calls from companies, which was supposed to come into force in the summer of 2025 and give subscribers the right to completely refuse advertising calls. Competitors are also engaged in similar tools: MegaFon is developing a virtual assistant "Eva", which can not only filter spam but also recognize deepfakes in calls.
