The Russian arms concern "Kalashnikov" plans to create an unmanned surface vessel (USV) based on the high-speed assault boat "BK-10" of project 02450, as the use of naval drones by military personnel is highly relevant. This was stated by the head of the concern, Alan Lushnikov.
We are developing appropriate unmanned surface vessels. The "BK-10" is an amphibious assault boat; it is very good, inexpensive, seaworthy, with two machine guns.
According to him, any weapon can be installed on the USV depending on customer requirements. Lushnikov emphasized that conducting combat operations without naval drones is currently impossible.
"BK-10" characteristics:
- Length — 10.48 m
- Width — 3.7 m
- Height — 4.08 m
- Cruising range — 400 miles
- Speed — up to 40 knots
- Armament: 40 mm caliber grenade launcher and 7.62 mm caliber machine gun
The assault boat is designed to transport up to 10 paratroopers, provide fire support to vessels, and combat pirates. The "BK-10" package includes a car trailer.
