One password can unlock everything: the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained how to protect accounts from hacking

They advise paying special attention to "Gosuslugi", messengers, social networks and mobile banking

Hacking an account in a messenger, social network, "Gosuslugi" or mobile bank often becomes part of a larger fraudulent scheme. To prevent one stolen password from opening access to several services at once, the Ministry of Internal Affairs advises not to use the same combinations for different accounts.

It is not necessary to memorize dozens of complex passwords – you can use a password manager for this. It stores combinations in one secure place and allows you to create a separate password for each service.

Another mandatory level of protection is two-factor authentication. Even if the password falls into the hands of attackers, they will need additional confirmation to log into the account.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also recommends periodically checking whether passwords have been leaked and evaluating their reliability. If the combination has already appeared in the public domain or is used on several sites at once, it is better to replace it.
