The icebreaking tug "Narvskaya Zastava" of Project 3262 will be launched in mid-August, and delivery to the customer is planned by the end of 2026. The vessel is being built by "Verf brat'ev Nobel", part of the "Kalashnikov" concern, for St. Petersburg. This was announced by Alan Lushnikov, head of JSC "Concern "Kalashnikov" and a member of the bureau of the Union of Machine Builders of Russia.
"Narvskaya Zastava" is primarily intended for operation on the Neva River and other inland waterways. The tug will be able to break ice formations near water intakes, prevent ice jams, and clear channels for vessels. In addition, it will be equipped for emergency rescue operations, firefighting, and oil spill response.
With a length of about 42.5 m, the vessel will have two main engines, each with a power of 1800 kW. The maximum speed will be about 11 knots, and the displacement will be approximately 660 tons. The crew is designed for eight people, with an autonomy of up to five days.
For operation on the Neva, designers have provided a special layout. The wheelhouse will be able to rise and fall, and the masts and antennas will be foldable. This will allow the tug to pass under the numerous bridges of St. Petersburg.
After launching, "Narvskaya Zastava" will be completed afloat, after which the vessel must undergo mooring and state trials. The delivery of the tug to the customer is scheduled for the end of the year.
