Robot-opossum with six drones failed to complete its mission: it was destroyed by "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky"

The robotic platform was designed for covert launch of a group of FPV drones remotely from the operator

The Russian drone "Knyaz Vandal Novgorodsky" (KVN) destroyed a ground robotic platform that was carrying six FPV drones with fiber-optic control. The strike hit the carrier robot itself and the drones placed on it.

The platform received the unofficial nickname "robot-opossum" due to its unusual configuration: the main ground robot carried several FPV drones, visually resembling a female opossum with cubs on its back.

While moving along its route, the robotic unit was detected by a KVN drone. After identifying the target, the apparatus struck, destroying the ground platform and all the drones placed on it.

Such robotic carriers can be used to increase the range of FPV drone application. Due to autonomous movement, this platform can remain in a given area for a long time, awaiting a command to launch drones.

The design with several FPV drones on a single ground platform allows for the simultaneous use of a group of drones from one launch point, making such systems a separate direction in the development of robotic complexes.
