The list of cars that can be used as taxis in Russia under the new localization rules has been expanded. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has added six new models to the list. The corresponding government order has been published on the official legal information portal.
The new list includes six models for the first time, whose production is organized in Russia under a special investment contract (SPIC). These are Jetour Dashing, Tenet T4L, Tenet T8, Tenet A8, Omoda C7, and Jeland J6.
Expanding the list will allow more vehicles to be used for obtaining new taxi operating permits. Previously, dozens of models were already included, including Lada cars – Granta, Iskra, Vesta, Aura, Largus, Niva Legend, and Niva Travel; Moskvich cars – 3, 3e, 6, 8, M70, and M90; Evolute electric vehicles – i-Pro, i-Joy, i-Sky, i-Jet, and i-Space; Voyah models – Free, Dream, and Passion; Sollers cars – SP7 and SF1; UMO 5; Haval Jolion, F7, and F7x; Tenet T7; Omoda C5; and Atom.
The list is formed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade within the framework of the taxi localization law, which came into force on March 1, 2026. The document provides for regular updates to the list as new models meeting the established requirements appear.
To be included in the list, it is not enough to simply assemble the car in Russia. The manufacturer must meet a number of requirements: have an SPIC concluded after March 1, 2025, accumulate at least 1500 localization points, and invest at least 10 billion rubles in Russian production over the past two years.
