The Production Association (PA) "Polyot" will transition to a closed-loop assembly cycle for modules of "Angara" launch vehicles. This was announced during the working visit of Dmitry Bakanov, head of Roscosmos, to the Omsk enterprise.
Bakanov inspected the production at "Polyot". He examined new workshops, the tank assembly line, and the control and testing station.
Later, the head of the state corporation and the governor of Omsk Oblast, Vitaly Khotsenko, participated in a meeting dedicated to the development of the enterprise.
Preparations are currently underway to fully transfer the production of the "Angara" family of launch vehicles to the Omsk site.
Roscosmos has already approved a plan for the relevant measures, the head of the region summarized.
PA "Polyot", specializing in the production of rocket and space technology and aviation equipment, was founded in 1941 in Omsk. The Il-28 bomber and the Tu-204 jet aircraft were produced here. In the late 1960s, the enterprise began producing light-class launch vehicles "Kosmos-3M".
In February 2007, PA "Polyot" became part of FSUE "GKNPTs im. M. V. Khrunicheva". Currently, the light launch vehicle "Angara" is fully produced here, and the production of the first and second stages of the heavy "Angara-A5" has been mastered.
