The PMA-3 track machine has successfully passed certification for compliance with the safety requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and has received permission for serial production until 2031. It will now undergo a controlled operation phase on railway tracks, which will be carried out by the "Kalugaputmash" company.
The new machine is designed for comprehensive maintenance of railway tracks. The PMA-3 performs several operations at once: it straightens and aligns the track, compacts the ballast, and stabilizes the structure. Due to its continuous work process, the equipment allows for reducing the duration of technological windows and increasing the efficiency of infrastructure repair.
The main feature of the PMA-3 is its high productivity. The machine can process up to 3300 sleepers per hour, reach speeds of up to 90 km/h, and operate with a crew of only three people. In terms of efficiency, it can replace up to three previous generation track-laying, tamping, and aligning machines.
The automation of processes is handled by the "Algoritm S" company's control system. It monitors equipment operation, helps perform track alignment operations, and has also passed inspection for compliance with technical regulations.
Certification opens the possibility of transitioning from development to industrial operation. After completing tests on the railway network, the new Russian machine will be able to expand the fleet of modern equipment for track maintenance.
