Radar manufacturer for the military "Mikran" invents a method for high-speed data transmission

The development increases throughput and reduces latency in changing channel conditions

The Mikran company has developed a method for high-speed wireless data transmission based on LDPC coding. The invention allows adapting the transmission speed to the quality of the communication channel, which increases throughput and reduces latency.

The system is based on flexible control of coding speed and signal modulation method depending on the quality of communication. The better the channel, the faster data can be transmitted; if the signal deteriorates, the system automatically reduces the speed to avoid errors. Coding is performed with a fixed data block length, and speed matching is done through a special buffer that accumulates and distributes bits. On the receiving side, data is restored using "soft" demodulation, which takes into account the probability of errors and allows for more accurate decoding of information.

As noted in the patent, the technical solution reduces computational and hardware complexity while maintaining transmission reliability. The development can be applied in satellite communication systems, 5G, and other wireless networks where high speed and stable connection are required in changing signal conditions. Mikran produces radar stations (RLS) for the Russian Armed Forces and MIK-MKS mobile communication complexes based on KamAZ, designed for rapid deployment of secure field networks. In addition, the plant produces MIK-RL and Y-PACKET digital radio relay stations, providing reliable communication in conditions of strong interference. A separate direction of the enterprise is radar systems for security and counteraction to UAVs: MRS, ARKAN, HUNTER series radars, as well as portable RLS capable of detecting drones at a distance of up to 1.2 km.
