Rosselkhozbank announced the normal operation of UnionPay payment system cards. According to the bank, possible failures are only related to attempts to link cards in the WeChat application. At the same time, operations using cards, including through the Nihao China QR code generation application, are performed as usual.
Earlier, information appeared on Telegram that Rosselkhozbank UnionPay cards could be linked to WeChat Pay. It was reported that after this, payment could be made directly – it was enough to show your payment code or scan the seller's code.
However, later a TASS journalist checked the service and found that Rosselkhozbank's card did not work in WeChat.
The bank explained that individual clients can indeed link a card to WeChat, but there was no official launch of this feature by the credit institution. Therefore, there are no special instructions for users regarding this service.
The bank also reported on alternative payment methods in China. Rosselkhozbank provides information about the Nihao China and Youshangfu applications, which allow generating QR codes for making payments using UnionPay cards.
Earlier, the EU Council approved the 21st package of sanctions against Russia, which included Rosselkhozbank. In addition to it, the list included WB Bank, DOM.RF Bank, Ozon Bank, Pochta Bank, MTS Bank, St. Petersburg Bank, Uralsib Bank, Zenit Bank, Ak Bars Bank, Yandex Bank, MSP Bank, and Roseximbank.
