AVTOVAZ is going on a planned corporate vacation from July 27 to August 16, and during this break, the plant will not just rest, but will prepare the line for the production of Lada Granta with a CVT. As reported by the company's press service, during the shutdown, a new manipulator for installing windshields will be mounted and an automatic adhesive-mastic application system for body elements will be launched.
The start of production of the modification with an automatic transmission is scheduled for 2027. The current task is to prepare the equipment to expand the model range in the future without additional long conveyor stops.
For the plant, the launch of the Granta with a CVT is a response to the main complaint about the budget model: the absence of two pedals deterred buyers from the brand's bestseller. After modernization, the Granta will be able to compete for the urban audience, which increasingly chooses cars with automatic transmissions.
